New Mexico High School Basketball - Sandia can't hold off Highland

December 1, 2023: Albuquerque, NM 87108

The Highland Hornets basketball team scored 78 points and held the visiting Sandia Matadors to 75 in the Hornets non-league triumph on Friday.

The Hornets now sport a 1-0 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Valley for a non-league contest on Tuesday, December 5. Highland will battle a Vikings team coming off a 51-48 non-league win over St. Pius X (Albuquerque, NM). The Vikings record now stands at 3-0.

The Matadors (1-1) will now prepare for their contest against Volcano Vista (Albuquerque, NM). The Hawks enter the non-league contest with a 2-0 record. In their last contest, Volcano Vista nudged La Cueva (Albuquerque, NM), 59-44, in a non-league contest.
