Piper Pirates (Kansas City, KS) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Leavenworth PIONEERS (Leavenworth, KS), 68-28 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Piper upgrades its record to 1-0 on the season. The Pirates host Shawnee Heights (Tecumseh, KS) to play the Thunderbirds in a non-league bout on Tuesday, December 5. The Thunderbirds go into the bout with a record of 0-1. Shawnee Heights lost 56-46 in their recent league bout against De Soto (De Soto, KS)

Next up, the PIONEERS play the Basehor-Linwood Bobcats (Basehor, KS) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, January 2. Leavenworth will attempt to upgrade on its 0-1 season record.
