Winfield-Mt. Union Wolves (Winfield, IA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Pekin Panthers (Packwood, IA), 55-37 in a league bout.

With the win, Winfield-Mt. Union upgrades its record to 2-0 on the season. The Wolves travel to Illini Bluffs (Glasford, IL) to clash with the Tigers in a non-league bout on Saturday, December 2. The Tigers go into the bout with a record of 4-2. Illini Bluffs won 77-28 in their recent league bout against Midwest Central (Manito, IL)

Next up, the Panthers clash with the Columbus Wildcats (Columbus Junction, IA) in a SEI - North bout, on Tuesday, December 5. Pekin will attempt to upgrade on its 1-1 season record. The Wildcats go into the bout with a 0-2 record after their 82-62 league loss to Louisa-Muscatine (Letts, IA).
