The Yantis Owls basketball team scored 40 points and held the visiting Whitewright Tigers to 37 in the Owls non-league triumph on Friday.

The Owls now sport a 7-2 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Christian Home Educators for a non-league contest on Saturday, December 2. Yantis will battle a Knights team coming off a 58-33 non-league win over Pioneer Tech & Arts Academy (Fate, TX). The Knights record now stands at 4-4.

The Tigers (2-3) will now prepare for their contest against Sulphur Bluff (Sulphur Bluff, TX). The Bears enter the non-league contest with a 6-3 record.
