In Friday's league outing, the Vinton-Shellsburg Vikings (Vinton, IA) basketball squad overwhelmed the visiting Independence Mustangs (Independence, IA), by a count of 82-49.

The Vikings (2-1) will now prepare for their outing against Solon (Solon, IA). The Spartans go into the non-league outing with a 4-0 record. In their last bout, Solon overwhelmed Williamsburg (Williamsburg, IA), 71-43, in a non-league bout.

Next up, the Mustangs play the Janesville Wildcats (Janesville, IA) in a non-league bout, on Monday, December 4. Independence will attempt to upgrade on its 1-2 season record. The Wildcats come into the bout with a 1-1 record after their 54-48 league win over Tripoli (Tripoli, IA).
