Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Mount Ida Lions (Mount Ida, AR) and the host Lafayette County Cougars (Stamps, AR), saw Mount Ida's basketball squad knock off Lafayette County by a tally of 39-26.

With the victory, Mount Ida improves its record to 3-2 on the campaign. The Lions travel to Kirby (Kirby, AR) to play the Trojans in a 1A Region 7 challenge on Tuesday, December 5. The Trojans come into the challenge with a record of 8-2.

Next up, the Cougars play the Nevada Blue Jays (Rosston, AR) in a non-league challenge, on Monday, December 4. Lafayette County will attempt to improve on its 2-2 season record. The Blue Jays come into the challenge with a 0-7 record after their 62-30 league loss to Emerson (Emerson, AR).
