North Carolina High School Basketball - Southside nips Martin County

December 1, 2023: Chocowinity, NC 27817

Southside Seahawks (Chocowinity, NC) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Martin County Knights (Williamston, NC), 39-36 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Southside upgrades its record to 5-0 on the campaign. The Seahawks travel to Mattamuskeet (Swan Quarter, NC) to play the Lakers in a non-league bout on Tuesday, December 5. The Lakers come into the bout with a record of 0-0.

Next up, the Knights play the Wayne Preparatory Academy Generals (Goldsboro, NC) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, December 2. Martin County will attempt to upgrade on its 0-1 season record. The Generals come into the bout with a 3-5 record after their 59-25 non-league loss to New Hanover (Wilmington, NC).
