North Carolina High School Basketball - Starmount nips Wilkes Central

December 1, 2023: Wilkesboro, NC 28697

Starmount Rams (Boonville, NC) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Wilkes Central Eagles (Wilkesboro, NC), 47-45 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Starmount upgrades its record to 1-2 on the campaign. The Rams travel to West Wilkes (Millers Creek, NC) to play the Blackhawks in a non-league bout on Tuesday, December 5. The Blackhawks come into the bout with a record of 2-2. West Wilkes lost 64-35 in their recent non-league bout against East Wilkes (Ronda, NC)

Next up, the Eagles play the Hibriten Panthers (Lenoir, NC) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, December 5. Wilkes Central will attempt to upgrade on its 1-2 season record. The Panthers come into the bout with a 3-0 record after their 72-8 non-league win over West Caldwell (Lenoir, NC).
