Lake Region Lakers (Naples, ME) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Poland Knights (Poland, ME), 74-60 in a league bout.

With the win, Lake Region upgrades its record to 1-0 on the season. The Lakers travel to Maranacook (Readfield, ME) to play the Black Bears in a B South bout on Tuesday, December 13. The Black Bears go into the bout with a record of 0-0.

Next up, the Knights play the North Yarmouth Academy Panthers (Yarmouth, ME) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, December 13. Poland will attempt to upgrade on its 0-1 season record. The Panthers go into the bout with a 1-0 record after their 60-56 league win over St. Dominic (Lewiston, ME).
