Pioneer Diamondbacks (Mission, TX) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Mission Eagles (Mission, TX), 68-40 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Pioneer upgrades its record to 9-10 on the season. The Diamondbacks host Pharr-San Juan-Alamo North (Pharr, TX) to play the Raiders in a 5A Region IV District 31 bout on Tuesday, December 13. The Raiders go into the bout with a record of 9-7. Pharr-San Juan-Alamo North lost 56-29 in their recent non-league bout against Edinburg North (Edinburg, TX)

Next up, the Eagles play the Los Fresnos Falcons (Los Fresnos, TX) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, December 13. Mission will attempt to upgrade on its 2-8 season record. The Falcons go into the bout with a 15-5 record after their 54-53 non-league loss to McAllen (McAllen, TX).
