In Saturday's non-league outing, the Morgan County Cougars (West Liberty, KY) basketball squad felled the host Powell County Pirates (Stanton, KY), by a margin of 74-60.
The Cougars (3-1) will now prepare for their outing against Elliott County (Sandy Hook, KY). The Lions go into the District 62 outing with a 0-3 record.
The Pirates now own a 2-4 record. They play next when they travel to Prestonsburg for a non-league outing on Tuesday, December 13. Powell County will encounter a Black Cats squad coming off a 61-47 league loss to Floyd Central (Eastern, KY). The Black Cats record now stands at 4-1.
