China Spring Cougars (China Spring, TX) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Teague Lions (Teague, TX), 39-36 in a non-league bout.

With the win, China Spring upgrades its record to 7-9 on the season. The Cougars host Marlin (Marlin, TX) to clash with the Bulldogs in a non-league bout on Tuesday, December 13. The Bulldogs go into the bout with a record of 1-3. Marlin lost 33-23 in their recent non-league bout against Central Texas Christian (Temple, TX)

Next up, the Lions clash with the Westwood Panthers (Palestine, TX) in a 3A Region III District 20 bout, on Tuesday, December 13. Teague will attempt to upgrade on its 4-12 season record. The Panthers go into the bout with a 5-6 record after their 75-21 league loss to Franklin (Franklin, TX).
