Shiprock Chieftains (Shiprock, NM) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Aztec Tigers (Aztec, NM), 29-10 in a non-league match.

In their next game, the Chieftains meet the Zuni Thunderbirds (Zuni, NM) in a non-league match, on Monday, January 2. Shiprock will attempt to better on its 2-1 season record.

With the defeat, Aztec moves to 1-4 on the year. The Tigers travel to Farmington (Farmington, NM) to clash with the Scorpions in a non-league outing on Tuesday, December 13. The Scorpions go into the outing with a record of 0-0.
