North Carolina High School Basketball - Covenant Day thwarts Gaston Day

December 10, 2024: Gastonia, NC 28056

The crowd at Tuesday's non-league challenge between the Covenant Day Lions (Matthews, NC) and the host Gaston Day Spartans (Gastonia, NC), observed Covenant Day's basketball team knock off Gaston Day by a score of 74-60.

The Lions (8-3) will now prepare for their challenge against Carmel Christian (Matthews, NC). The Cougars come into the non-league challenge with a 9-3 record. In their last challenge, Carmel Christian prevailed over Davidson Day (Davidson, NC), 58-48, in a non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Spartans encounter the Christ School Greenies (Arden, NC) in a non-league challenge, on Wednesday, December 11. Gaston Day will attempt to improve on its 8-3 season record. The Greenies come into the challenge with a 8-0 record after their 74-56 non-league win over Wilson (Florence, SC).
