The crowd at Tuesday's league challenge between the Marist War Eagles (Atlanta, GA) and the host Southwest DeKalb Panthers (Decatur, GA), observed Marist's basketball team overcome Southwest DeKalb by a margin of 54-45.

The War Eagles (6-1) will now prepare for their challenge against St. Pius X Catholic (Atlanta, GA). The Golden Lions go into the AAAA Region 5 bout with a 3-4 record. In their last bout, St. Pius X Catholic gained a win over Lithonia (Lithonia, GA), 65-44, in a league bout.

With the loss, Southwest DeKalb falls to 5-5 on the campaign. The Panthers travel to Tucker (Tucker, GA) to play the Tigers in a AAAA Region 5 bout on Friday, December 13. The Tigers go into the bout with a record of 6-3. Tucker lost 55-29 in their recent non-league bout against Jonesboro (Jonesboro, GA)
