In Wednesday's non-league contest, the visiting West Jefferson Buccaneers basketball team scored a close 63-57 triumph over the Phoenix Spartans.
The Buccaneers (4-6) will now prepare for their contest against Chalmette (Chalmette, LA). The Owls go into the non-league match with a 5-3 record. In their last match, Chalmette got by Ascension Christian (Gonzales, LA), 60-31, in a non-league match.
The Spartans now sport a 2-10 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Doyle for a non-league match on Tuesday, December 16. Phoenix will face a Tigers squad coming off a 56-48 non-league win over Springfield (Springfield, LA). The Tigers record now stands at 9-0.
