Merritt Oilers (Elk City, OK) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Canute Trojans (Canute, OK), 46-40 in a league bout.

With the win, Merritt upgrades its record to 4-0 on the season. The Oilers host Sweetwater (Sweetwater, OK) to clash with the Bulldogs in a Five County bout on Tuesday, December 14. The Bulldogs go into the bout with a record of 1-6. Sweetwater lost 42-35 in their recent non-league bout against Leedey (Leedey, OK)

Next up, the Trojans clash with the Arapaho Indians (Arapaho, OK) in a Five County bout, on Tuesday, December 14. Canute will attempt to upgrade on its 6-4 season record. The Indians go into the bout with a 7-2 record after their 47-33 league win over Sentinel (Sentinel, OK).
