Chesapeake Panthers (Chesapeake, OH) backers were pleased Monday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Gallia Academy Blue Devils (Gallipolis, OH), 47-36 in a league bout.

With the victory, Chesapeake upgrades its record to 1-2 on the campaign. The Panthers host Fairview (Ashland, KY) to play the Eagles in a non-league bout on Wednesday, December 13. The Eagles come into the bout with a record of 1-6. Fairview won 40-35 in their recent non-league bout against Clay (Portsmouth, OH)

Next up, the Blue Devils play the Dawson-Bryant Hornets (Coal Grove, OH) in a Ohio Valley bout, on Thursday, December 14. Gallia Academy will attempt to upgrade on its 0-3 season record. The Hornets come into the bout with a 2-4 record after their 61-29 league loss to Portsmouth (Portsmouth, OH).
