Simpson Academy Cougars (Mendenhall, MS) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Pillow Academy Mustangs (Greenwood, MS), 59-57 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Simpson Academy upgrades its record to 10-6 on the season. The Cougars host Park Place Christian Academy (Pearl, MS) to clash with the Crusaders in a MAIS 5A District 2 bout on Tuesday, December 12. The Crusaders go into the bout with a record of 1-5. Park Place Christian Academy lost 61-8 in their recent league bout against East Rankin Academy (Pelahatchie, MS)

Next up, the Mustangs clash with the Heritage Academy Patriots (Columbus, MS) in a MAIS 5A District 1 bout, on Friday, December 15. Pillow Academy will attempt to upgrade on its 11-1 season record. The Patriots go into the bout with a 8-3 record after their 63-31 league loss to Rossville Christian Academy (Rossville, TN).
