In Wednesday's non-league contest, the visiting Barton Bears basketball team scored a close 62-58 triumph over the Marvell Mustangs.

The Bears (6-2) will now prepare for their contest against Des Arc (Des Arc, AR). The Eagles go into the 2A Region 6 contest with a 0-3 record. In their last contest, Des Arc was tipped by Lee (Marianna, AR), 71-18, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Mustangs confront the Dermott Rams (Dermott, AR) in a 1A Region 6 contest, on Friday, December 13. Marvell will attempt to better on its 1-6 season record. The Rams go into the contest with a 9-2 record after their 69-52 league win over Brinkley (Brinkley, AR).
