Virginia High School Basketball - Appomattox Regional Governor's Arts & Tech can't hold off Southampton

Southampton Indians (Courtland, VA) supporters left the game happy Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad hold off the visiting Appomattox Regional Governor's Arts & Tech Dragons (Petersburg, VA), 40-39 in a league match.

With the victory, Southampton advances its record to 1-2 on the year. The Indians travel to Surry County (Dendron, VA) to face the Cougars in a Tri-Rivers match on Friday, December 13. The Cougars enter the match with a record of 0-5. Surry County lost 59-16 in their recent league match against Brunswick (Lawrenceville, VA)

The Dragons now own a 1-3 record. They put it on the line next when they host Brunswick for a Tri-Rivers match on Thursday, December 12. Appomattox Regional Governor's Arts & Tech will face a Bulldogs squad coming off a 50-17 league win over Windsor (Windsor, VA). The Bulldogs record now stands at 2-2.
