Burton Panthers (Burton, TX) backers went home thrilled Thursday as they saw their basketball team thwart the host Round Top-Carmine Cubs (Carmine, TX), 44-29 in a non-league contest.

The Panthers (6-2) will now prepare for their contest against Geneva (Boerne, TX). The Eagles go into the non-league contest with a 1-8 record. In their last outing, Geneva was dropped by John Paul II (New Braunfels, TX), 65-33, in a league outing.

The Cubs (3-7) will now prepare for their outing against Sacred Heart (Hallettsville, TX). The Indians enter the non-league outing with a 3-5 record.
