Fans at Monday's non-league challenge between the Cherokee Chiefs (Rogersville, TN) and the visiting Hancock County Indians (Sneedville, TN), saw Cherokee's basketball squad overcome Hancock County by a tally of 66-53.

With the victory, Cherokee improves its record to 4-3 on the campaign. The Chiefs travel to Chuckey-Doak (Afton, TN) to confront the Black Knights in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, December 13. The Black Knights come into the challenge with a record of 10-1. Chuckey-Doak won 71-59 in their recent non-league challenge against North Greene (Greeneville, TN)

Next up, the Indians confront the University Buccaneers (Johnson City, TN) in a 1A District 1 challenge, on Friday, December 16. Hancock County will attempt to improve on its 1-9 season record. The Buccaneers come into the challenge with a 5-2 record after their 61-43 non-league win over Elizabethton (Elizabethton, TN).
