The Sussex Central Tigers basketball team scored 39 points and restricted the host Surry County Cougars to 32 in the Tigers league victory on Monday.

The Tigers now sport a 2-2 record. They put it on the line next when they host Greensville County for a Tri-Rivers contest on Wednesday, December 14. Sussex Central will battle a Eagles team coming off a 74-21 league loss to Appomattox Regional Governor's Arts & Tech (Petersburg, VA). The Eagles record now stands at 0-3.

The Cougars (3-4) will now prepare for their contest against Franklin (Franklin, VA). The Broncos come into the Tri-Rivers contest with a 5-0 record. In their last contest, Franklin edged Lunenburg Central (Victoria, VA), 60-20, in a non-league contest.
