The J.I. Burton Black Raiders (Norton, VA) basketball knocked off the visiting Grundy Golden Wave (Grundy, VA), 51-39 in Monday's non-league test.
The Black Raiders (2-4) will now prepare for their test against John Battle (Bristol, VA). The Trojans go into the non-league test with a 1-3 record. In their last test, John Battle notched a victory over Holston (Damascus, VA), 55-36, in a non-league test.
The Golden Wave now own a 2-2 record. They play next when they host Richlands for a non-league test on Wednesday, December 14. Grundy will encounter a Blue Tornado squad coming off a 61-42 non-league win over Mountain Mission (Grundy, VA). The Blue Tornado record now stands at 4-1.
