Fans at Monday's non-league challenge between the Fairmont Golden Tornadoes (Fairmont, NC) and the visiting Cape Fear Colts (Fayetteville, NC), saw Fairmont's basketball squad hold off Cape Fear by a tally of 1-0.

With the victory, Fairmont improves its record to 4-2 on the campaign. The Golden Tornadoes host Midway (Dunn, NC) to confront the Raiders in a challenge on Tuesday, January 3. The Raiders come into the challenge with a record of 6-1.

Next up, the Colts confront the Overhills Jaguars (Spring Lake, NC) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, December 16. Cape Fear will attempt to improve on its 4-2 season record. The Jaguars come into the challenge with a 5-0 record after their 42-32 non-league win over Pinecrest (Southern Pines, NC).
