North Carolina High School Basketball - Ashley overwhelms South Brunswick

December 12, 2023: Southport, NC 28461

Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the Ashley Screaming Eagle (Wilmington, NC) and the host South Brunswick Cougars (Southport, NC), saw Ashley's basketball squad wallop South Brunswick by a tally of 58-36.

With the victory, Ashley improves its record to 2-4 on the campaign. The Screaming Eagle host Laney (Wilmington, NC) to confront the Buccaneers in a 3A/4A Mideastern challenge on Friday, December 15. The Buccaneers come into the challenge with a record of 7-0. Laney won 61-47 in their recent league challenge against West Brunswick (Shallotte, NC)

Next up, the Cougars confront the New Hanover Wildcats (Wilmington, NC) in a 3A/4A Mideastern challenge, on Friday, December 15. South Brunswick will attempt to improve on its 2-5 season record. The Wildcats come into the challenge with a 4-0 record after their 72-30 league win over Topsail (Hampstead, NC).
