East Poinsett County Warriors (Lepanto, AR) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Bay Yellowjackets (Bay, AR), 60-59 in a league bout.

With the victory, East Poinsett County upgrades its record to 4-1 on the campaign. The Warriors travel to Riverside (Lake City, AR) to play the Rebels in a 2A Region 3 bout on Thursday, December 14. The Rebels come into the bout with a record of 15-3. Riverside won 68-50 in their recent non-league bout against Pocahontas (Pocahontas, AR)

Next up, the Yellowjackets play the Earle Bulldogs (Earle, AR) in a 2A Region 3 bout, on Friday, December 15. Bay will attempt to upgrade on its 12-9 season record. The Bulldogs come into the bout with a 3-2 record after their 60-54 league loss to Buffalo Island Central (Monette, AR).
