Knott County Central Patriots (Hindman, KY) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Letcher County Central Cougars / Lady Cougars (Whitesburg, KY), 51-49 in a league bout.

With the victory, Knott County Central upgrades its record to 5-2 on the campaign. The Patriots host Spring Valley (Huntington, WV) to play the Timberwolves in a non-league bout on Saturday, December 16. The Timberwolves come into the bout with a record of 3-0. Spring Valley won 60-48 in their recent league bout against Cabell Midland (Ona, WV)

Next up, the Cougars / Lady Cougars play the Hazard Bulldogs / Lady Bulldogs (Hazard, KY) in a non-league bout, on Friday, December 15. Letcher County Central will attempt to upgrade on its 4-3 season record. The Bulldogs / Lady Bulldogs come into the bout with a 7-0 record after their 77-32 non-league win over Wolfe County (Campton, KY).
