Fans at Tuesday's non-league challenge between the Burlington Wildcats (Burlington, KS) and the visiting Iola Mustangs (Iola, KS), saw Burlington's basketball squad hold off Iola by a tally of 41-37.
With the victory, Burlington improves its record to 2-2 on the campaign. The Wildcats host Wellsville (Wellsville, KS) to play the Eagles in a Pioneer challenge on Friday, December 15. The Eagles come into the challenge with a record of 1-3. Wellsville won 37-12 in their recent non-league challenge against Osawatomie (Osawatomie, KS)
Next up, the Mustangs play the Prairie View Buffalos (La Cygne, KS) in a non-league challenge, on Thursday, December 14. Iola will attempt to improve on its 1-4 season record. The Buffalos come into the challenge with a 3-1 record after their 58-43 non-league loss to Santa Fe Trail (Carbondale, KS).
