Kentucky High School Basketball - Powell County trounces Jackson City

December 12, 2023: Stanton, KY 40380

The Powell County Pirates (Stanton, KY) basketball crushed the visiting Jackson City Tigers (Jackson, KY), 36-13 in Tuesday's non-league test.

The Pirates (4-3) will now prepare for their test against Owsley County (Booneville, KY). The Owls / Lady Owls go into the District 56 test with a 1-3 record.

The Tigers now own a 1-4 record. They play next when they travel to Breathitt County for a District 55 test on Friday, December 15. Jackson City will encounter a Bobcats squad coming off a 53-27 non-league loss to Prestonsburg (Prestonsburg, KY). The Bobcats record now stands at 4-2.
