The Newport Greyhounds basketball team (Newport, AR), dropped 53-42 in Tuesday's league battle with the host Walnut Ridge Bobcats (Walnut Ridge, AR)
The Bobcats now possess a 3-6 record. They put it on the line next when they host Hoxie for a 3A Region 2 battle on Friday, December 15. Walnut Ridge will battle a Mustangs team coming off a 63-27 league loss to Salem (Salem, AR). The Mustangs record now stands at 0-7.
The Greyhounds (2-9) will now prepare for their battle against Cave City (Cave City, AR). The Cavemen come into the 3A Region 2 battle with a 5-5 record. In their last battle, Cave City beat Tuckerman (Tuckerman, AR), 38-35, in a league battle.
