Florida High School Basketball - Hernando Christian Academy knocks off First Academy

The crowd at Thursday's non-league challenge between the Hernando Christian Academy Lions (Brooksville, FL) and the visiting First Academy Eagles (Leesburg, FL), observed Hernando Christian Academy's basketball team overcome First Academy by a score of 57-40.
The Lions (2-4) will now prepare for their challenge against Canterbury (St. Petersburg, FL). The Crusaders come into the non-league challenge with a 2-2 record. In their last challenge, Canterbury defeated Patel (Tampa, FL), 62-51, in a non-league challenge.
In their next game, the Eagles battle the Taylor Wildcats (Pierson, FL) in a non-league challenge, on Monday, December 16. First Academy will attempt to improve on its 1-5 season record. The Wildcats come into the challenge with a 3-2 record after their 64-28 non-league win over Florida School for the Deaf & Blind (St. Augustine, FL).
First Quarter
Jaden picked up two quick fouls early and so had to sit the rest of the quarter. Cayden Williams stepped up in his absence and led the team with 8 points in the quarter.
Second Quarter
We played excellent defense and held the other team to just 2 second quarter points while scoring 15 points ourselves. Jaden and Cayden led the team with 6 points each in the quarter. We outscored them in the first half 28-12.
Third Quarter
We got points from 5 different players in the quarter with Jaden leading the team with 5 points in the quarter.
Fourth Quarter
We had points from 5 different players again in the fourth quarter with Cayden leading the team with 4 points in the quarter. We outscored them in the second half 29-28.
