In Thursday's league contest, the host McGregor Mercuries basketball team scored a close 49-44 triumph over the South Ridge Panthers.
The Mercuries (3-2) will now prepare for their contest against Carlton/Wrenshall (Carlton, MN). The go into the A Section 7 contest with a 3-5 record. In their last contest, Carlton/Wrenshall was tipped by Esko (Esko, MN), 59-25, in a non-league contest.
