The Mountaineers now possess a 3-2 record. They play next when they host Madison for a 1A/2A Western Highlands bout on Tuesday, December 17. Mitchell will play a Patriots team coming off a 52-32 non-league loss to Erwin (Asheville, NC). The Patriots record now stands at 2-5.

With the loss, Unicoi County falls to 5-4 on the campaign. The Blue devils host Tri-Cities Christian (Blountville, TN) to play the Eagles in a non-league bout on Monday, December 16. The Eagles go into the bout with a record of 7-4. Tri-Cities Christian won 66-58 in their recent non-league bout against Honaker (Honaker, VA)
