The crowd at Thursday's non-league challenge between the Talihina Golden Tigers (Talihina, OK) and the visiting Poteau Pirates (Poteau, OK), observed Talihina's basketball team overwhelm Poteau by a score of 42-21.

The Golden Tigers (1-1) will now prepare for their challenge against Howe (Howe, OK). The Lions come into the non-league challenge with a 3-5 record. In their last challenge, Howe was routed by Roland (Roland, OK), 51-50, in a non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Pirates encounter the Sallisaw Black Diamonds (Sallisaw, OK) in a NOAA challenge, on Tuesday, December 17. Poteau will attempt to improve on its 0-4 season record. The Black Diamonds come into the challenge with a 4-2 record after their 48-36 non-league win over Eufaula (Eufaula, OK).
