In Thursday's league outing, the host Philadelphia Tornadoes soccer squad scored a tight 5-3 win over the Mississippi School for Mathematics & Science Blue Waves.

The Tornadoes (3-2) will now prepare for their outing against Southeast Lauderdale (Meridian, MS). The Tigers enter the non-league outing with a 5-6 record. In their last outing, Southeast Lauderdale tipped Magee (Magee, MS), 5-1, in a league outing.

Next up, the Blue Waves confront the Philadelphia Tornadoes (Philadelphia, MS) in a 1A Region 4 outing, on Tuesday, January 7. Mississippi School for Mathematics & Science will attempt to improve on its 3-3 season record.
