In Friday's league test, the Patton Panthers (Morganton, NC) basketball squad knocked off the visiting East Burke Cavaliers (Connelly Springs, NC), by a score of 78-62.

Next, the Panthers encounter the Draughn Wildcats (Valdese, NC) in a Western Piedmont 3A/4A bout, on Tuesday, December 16. Patton will attempt to move on its 5-3 season record. The Wildcats go into the bout with a 0-7 record after their 76-41 league loss to R-S Central (Rutherfordton, NC).
