    Fans at Friday's league battle between the Abingdon Falcons (Abingdon, VA) and the visiting Union Bears (Big Stone Gap, VA), witnessed Abingdon's basketball squad prevail over Union by a count of 63-53.

    With the victory, Abingdon advances its record to 3-0 on the year. The Falcons travel to John Battle (Bristol, VA) to encounter the Trojans in a Mountain challenge on Tuesday, December 16. The Trojans come into the challenge with a record of 0-4. John Battle lost 48-13 in their recent league challenge against Gate City (Gate City, VA)

    In their next game, the Bears encounter the Twin Springs Titans (Nickelsville, VA) in a non-league challenge, on Thursday, December 18. Union will attempt to advance on its 3-1 season record. The Titans enter the battle with a 4-3 record after their 60-24 non-league win over Patrick Henry (Glade Spring, VA).
