North Carolina High School Basketball - West Johnston can't get by Union Pines

The West Johnston Wildcats basketball squad (Benson, NC), was nudged 38-36 in Friday's non-league battle with the visiting Union Pines Vikings (Cameron, NC)

With the victory, Union Pines advances its record to 1-2 on the year. The Vikings travel to Pinecrest (Southern Pines, NC) to battle the Patriots in a non-league contest on Tuesday, December 16. The Patriots go into the contest with a record of 1-3. Pinecrest won 75-52 in their recent non-league contest against E.E. Smith (Fayetteville, NC)

In their next game, the Wildcats battle the Lee County Yellow Jackets (Sanford, NC) in a contest, on Friday, December 19. West Johnston will attempt to better on its 4-2 season record. The Yellow Jackets go into the contest with a 2-1 record after their 45-35 league win over Triton (Erwin, NC).
