Elverado Falcons (Elkville, IL) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Shawnee Redskins (Wolf Lake, IL), 65-60 in a league bout.

With the victory, Elverado upgrades its record to 4-5 on the campaign. The Falcons travel to Egyptian (Tamms, IL) to play the Pharaohs in a South Egyptian bout on Friday, December 16. The Pharaohs come into the bout with a record of 0-9. Egyptian lost 50-38 in their recent non-league bout against Zalma (Zalma, MO)

Next up, the Redskins play the Pope County Pirates (Golconda, IL) in a non-league bout, on Wednesday, December 14. Shawnee will attempt to upgrade on its 2-4 season record. The Pirates come into the bout with a 5-5 record after their 100-55 non-league loss to Vienna (Vienna, IL).
