Emerald Vikings (Greenwood, SC) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Ninety Six Wildcats (Ninety Six, SC), 49-37 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Emerald upgrades its record to 3-2 on the season. The Vikings host Strom Thurmond (Johnston, SC) to play the Rebels in a non-league bout on Thursday, December 15. The Rebels go into the bout with a record of 7-3. Strom Thurmond won 51-42 in their recent non-league bout against Saluda (Saluda, SC)

Next up, the Wildcats play the Dixie Hornets (Due West, SC) in a non-league bout, on Wednesday, December 14. Ninety Six will attempt to upgrade on its 1-6 season record. The Hornets go into the bout with a 6-3 record after their 40-39 non-league loss to Southside Christian (Simpsonville, SC).
