Saugus Sachems (Saugus, MA) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Swampscott Big Blue (Swampscott, MA), 59-54 in a league bout.

With the win, Saugus upgrades its record to 1-0 on the season. The Sachems travel to Lynn Vo-Tech (Lynn, MA) to play the Tigers in a non-league bout on Monday, December 19. The Tigers go into the bout with a record of 1-1. Lynn Vo-Tech lost 43-38 in their recent league bout against Essex North Shore Agric & Tech School (Hathorne, MA)

Next up, the Big Blue play the Belchertown Orioles (Belchertown, MA) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, December 17. Swampscott will attempt to upgrade on its 0-1 season record.
