The Normal University Pioneers basketball team (Normal, IL), was nudged 40-38 in Tuesday's league battle with the visiting Springfield Senators (Springfield, IL)
The Senators now sport a 7-3 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to MacArthur for a Central State Eight battle on Friday, December 16. Springfield will battle a Generals team coming off a 72-41 league win over Decatur Eisenhower (Decatur, IL). The Generals record now stands at 5-6.
The Pioneers (3-8) will now prepare for their battle against Rochester (Rochester, IL). The Rockets come into the Central State Eight battle with a 10-1 record. In their last battle, Rochester edged Sacred Heart-Griffin (Springfield, IL), 41-34, in a league battle.
