McCormick Chiefs (McCormick, SC) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Emerald Vikings (Greenwood, SC), 65-53 in a non-league bout.

With the win, McCormick upgrades its record to 8-1 on the season. The Chiefs travel to Whitmire (Whitmire, SC) to play the Wolverines in a A Region 2 bout on Friday, December 15. The Wolverines go into the bout with a record of 3-4. Whitmire lost 64-36 in their recent non-league bout against Brashier Middle College Charter (Simpsonville, SC)

Next up, the Vikings play the Ninety Six Wildcats (Ninety Six, SC) in a non-league bout, on Friday, December 15. Emerald will attempt to upgrade on its 3-4 season record. The Wildcats go into the bout with a 1-4 record after their 73-50 non-league win over Ware Shoals (Ware Shoals, SC).
