The Winooski Spartans (Winooski, VT) basketball nipped the visiting Mt. Abraham Eagles (Bristol, VT), 57-55 in Wednesday's league test.
The Spartans (1-0) will now prepare for their test against Bellows Free Academy (Fairfax, VT). The Bullets go into the Mountain test with a 2-0 record. In their last test, Bellows Free Academy got by Milton (Milton, VT), 64-58, in a non-league test.
The Eagles now own a 0-1 record. They play next when they host Randolph for a non-league test on Friday, December 15. Mt. Abraham will encounter a Ghosts squad coming off a 54-44 non-league loss to White River Valley (Royalton, VT). The Ghosts record now stands at 0-1.
