Westminster Academy Crusaders (Opelousas, LA) backers were pleased Wednesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Opelousas Catholic Vikings (Opelousas, LA), 52-49 in a league bout.

With the victory, Westminster Academy upgrades its record to 6-5 on the campaign. The Crusaders host East St. John (Reserve, LA) to play the Wildcats in a non-league bout on Thursday, December 21. The Wildcats come into the bout with a record of 2-6.

Next up, the Vikings play the St. Joseph's - Plaucheville Eagles (Plaucheville, LA) in a non-league bout, on Friday, December 15. Opelousas Catholic will attempt to upgrade on its 4-3 season record. The Eagles come into the bout with a 4-8 record after their 65-52 non-league loss to Grant (Dry Prong, LA).
