In Wednesday's non-league match, the visiting Ayden - Grifton Chargers basketball team scored a tight 39-38 triumph over the North Lenoir Hawks.
In their next game, the Chargers face the West Craven Eagles (Vanceboro, NC) in a 2A Eastern Plains match, on Friday, December 15. Ayden - Grifton will attempt to move on its 1-6 season record.
