The Jonesport-Beals Royals (Jonesport, ME) basketball felled the host Sumner Tigers (East Sullivan, ME), 38-30 in Wednesday's non-league test.
The Royals (1-2) will now prepare for their test against Deer Isle-Stonington (Deer Isle, ME). The Mariners go into the D North test with a 0-2 record. In their last test, Deer Isle-Stonington was beaten by Searsport (Searsport, ME), 38-36, in a non-league test.
The Tigers now own a 1-1 record. They play next when they travel to Machias for a C North test on Friday, December 15. Sumner will encounter a Bulldogs squad coming off a 65-34 non-league win over Shead (Eastport, ME). The Bulldogs record now stands at 3-0.
