In Friday's league contest, the visiting Amarillo Sandies basketball team scored a big 60-23 triumph over the Lubbock Westerners.

The Sandies (16-5) will now prepare for their contest against Tascosa (Amarillo, TX). The Rebels go into the 5A Region I District 3 contest with a 10-4 record. In their last contest, Tascosa smashed Monterey (Lubbock, TX), 57-51, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Westerners confront the Lubbock-Cooper Pirates (Lubbock, TX) in a 5A Region I District 3 contest, on Tuesday, December 17. Lubbock will attempt to better on its 7-6 season record. The Pirates go into the contest with a 10-5 record after their 68-65 league win over Caprock (Amarillo, TX).
